Its own city, its own building department

North Las Vegas is a separate city with its own Building Safety division, fire department and public works review. It is not part of the City of Las Vegas or unincorporated Clark County. Plans are submitted electronically through the City's portal, with one combined PDF for each discipline. Site and civil work has its own Public Works review. The City also runs a Self-Certification Program that can speed up review for eligible commercial projects. Whether a project qualifies depends on the scope and the design team, so we look at that path during preconstruction, not after the drawings are finished.

Industrial and warehouse work

A large share of North Las Vegas's commercial growth is industrial: distribution and manufacturing buildings along the I-15 corridor and in the Apex Industrial Park area to the north. Most of the general-contractor work inside those buildings is a tenant improvement within a larger shell: office areas, break rooms, restrooms, mezzanines, dock equipment, and the HVAC, lighting, accessibility and fire-separation work that comes with them. Retail, restaurant and medical suites

North Las Vegas also has neighborhood retail centers, restaurant pads and medical office space serving its growing residential areas. Restaurant projects need Southern Nevada Health District plan approval as well as the building permit. Grease interceptors, hoods and gas capacity tend to drive both cost and schedule, so we look at them first. For medical tenants we build medical and dental office build-outs. For retailers and landlords we build retail and restaurant tenant improvements in occupied centers.
